Spent a little too long at the Zoom meeting yesterday and already the next morning there are dark circles under your eyes that last the whole day? Simply apply some red lipstick around the eyes, foundation over it, and all traces of last night are gone.

We’ll show you how to quickly and easily make your dark circles disappear and make your eyes shine again.

Beauty hack: this is how you can skillfully hide your dark circles

Apply some red lipstick to an eyeshadow brush and spread it under your eyes and on your eyelid. If you have a fair complexion, you should go for pink or peach-colored tones, for darker skin tones you should go for orange-red colors. Then blend the lipstick a little with a sponge or your fingers.

Let the lipstick take effect briefly and then simply apply your concealer or your normal foundation on it and blend it again. Your dark circles should be a thing of the past.

Why does it work

If you take a closer look at the color spectrum, it is actually logical why this trick works so well. Red and orange are the complementary colors of darker tones like green or blue and they cancel each other out. The red lipstick visually absorbs the dark color of the shadows under the eyes, so to speak.

They are sweet, yellow, and originally come from the rainforest of South Asia: mangoes. If you eat the fruit in a controlled manner, you can reduce wrinkles on the face. At least that’s what a pilot study from the USA says.

But be careful: if you consume too much mango, exactly the opposite can happen.

Mango beauty treatment

Even in ancient medicine, mangoes were repeatedly used for healing processes. Because the substances contained in the fruit should have an anti-inflammatory and intestinal calming effect and be effective in stopping bleeding. Another effect that could be very exciting, especially in the beauty sector, is the fact that mangoes are also said to reduce wrinkles.

A study by the University of California at Davis found that women who regularly consume a certain amount of mangoes can significantly reduce age-related facial wrinkles. According to the pilot project of the US university, there was the first series of tests with a total of 28 women who were just going through menopause and who had skin types II and III. The so-called ataulfo mangoes, a variety that comes from Mexico, were used.

High beta-carotene content

The researchers working with Robert Hackman decided on the variety because it was already known from experiments with mice that this particular mango is supposed to suppress the formation of wrinkles. The reason for this is the inhibition of epidermal thickening and the increase in the number of collagen bundles. In addition, this fruit is particularly rich in beta-carotene, which has an antioxidant effect.

In the study, the participants were then divided into two groups. One group consumed 85 grams of mangoes four times a week for a total of 16 weeks. While the other group consumed 250 grams of the ataulfo mango over the same period. Face photographs were taken before and after the test series. “Our system with which we analyzed wrinkles is extremely precise and has enabled us to detect wrinkles that are not visible to the naked eye,” Hackman told the journal “Nutrients”.

Surprising result

The facial image after the 16 weeks was exciting for the researchers. Because in women with deep facial wrinkles who ate 85 grams of mangoes, the wrinkles were reduced. But the result of the 250-gram group was even more surprising. Because here the mango consumption had anything but positive effects. The researchers noticed that the wrinkles had worsened after 16 weeks.

“Why eating more mangoes increases the severity of wrinkles is unclear. Maybe it has something to do with the amount of sugar, “says Vivien Fam from the research team. In order to define the exact effect of mangoes on the human skin, further studies are necessary.

Leeeet the sunshine in… We are already so ready for spring and greedily soak up every ray of sunshine in us. So that our face wakes up from its hibernation, we have 5 beauty tricks in stock that are guaranteed to create wow moments. But read for yourself!

Peel it!

This step should actually be a matter of course after winter: the peeling! Like the butterfly from the cocoon, we peel ourselves off our old skin and present ourselves with silky-soft skin. It is best not to use conventional peelings – they can cause more damage to the skin than help – but rather fruit acid peelings. As the name suggests, they use various acids to ensure that your skin becomes baby soft again and really shines in spring. Important: then apply sun protection!

Wow, Brows!

It is not for nothing that it is said: eyebrows give the face the right frame. Where previously only thinly plucked lines could be seen, today there are bushy and well-groomed brows that give the eyes even more expression. This spring we are using the Beauty Lash Power-Brow coloring set so that they also come into their own in terms of color. The smudge-proof and waterproof color ensure that your eyebrows are on fleek in every situation.

A touch of color

When the first rays of the sun kiss the skin, we can hardly wait until we finally do our lap again with tan lines and delicate freckles. But because of that, it takes forever! With a little self-tanning spray, we can simply help and give ourselves a sun-kissed complexion within a very short time. With the help of light brown, add a few fake freckles and et voilá: Your face literally screams SPRING!

Drop it like it’s hot

The right glow should not be missing in spring either. Our insider tip: Simply mix a few drops of high-quality face oil into the foundation and apply evenly. The result is not “cakey”, but literally melts into the skin and provides an extra portion of glow. Put a little highlighter on your cheekbones and you’re ready for spring.

Now it bangs …

… on our lips. What makes for the absolute spring kick is bright lipstick. Especially rich cherry red, flaming orange, or strong sugar pink provide a fresh look in no time and let the memories of winter fade away in no time. So you are prepared for the most beautiful of all seasons.

Well, we really hate to say it: But summer is officially over. At least our tan reminds us a bit of the vacation – but how long? We’ll show you three tips on how to keep your radiant summer complexion on your face for a few weeks longer.

With the current weather conditions, not only does our good summer mood fade, but also our summer complexion. It’s a shame because we’d love to wear the summer glow on our faces for a while if we could. But there are several ways to bring your summer tan with you into autumn and winter. Here are our three top tips for a long-lasting tan on your face.

Moisture

Once you have built up a basic tan, it is now time to maintain it. And that works best with moisture! Because after sunbathing, the skin is particularly thirsty – this also applies days and weeks later. So: cream what it takes! The regular supply of moisture slows down the natural renewal process of the upper layers of the skin, the cells of which contain the pigment melanin, which in turn is responsible for tanning the skin.

Beta carotene

Beta-carotene, which can be found in carrots, peppers, and tomatoes and is converted by the body into vitamin A, is a real complexion booster: If around 25 milligrams of carotenoids enter the body daily for more than three weeks, they are not only stored in the liver and adipose tissue but also in the skin. But if you don’t really feel like eating half a kilo of carrots a day, you can also get capsules. When ingested, the complexion turns a light orange-brown and increases – similar to melanin – the skin’s own UV protection (but sunscreen is still mandatory, because only it reliably prevents sunburn!). The consumption of such tablets has not yet been tested as harmful. However, as with most supplements, excessive consumption should be avoided. You can find carotene capsules in any drugstore or online, for example at Douglas.

Self-tan drops

To keep the tan a little longer, you can also mix Self-Tan Drops with your daycare. To do this, the self-tanner drops for Summer-Glow are simply added to the “normal” daycare or night cream two to three times a week. The good thing: By using the drops in facial care, the tan is built up gradually – in contrast to applying a pure self-tanner. The tan is also streak-free. Depending on how often you use the drops and how much you dose them, you can determine the degree of tan yourself.

If you want to be completely on the safe side, you could try bronze drops. In contrast to the self-tanner drops, the summer glow is gone the next time you cleanse your face. Simply mix a drop or two of it into your moisturizer or makeup.
